The 2/30 Battalion memorial stone and plaque, in Robertson Park, Orange, NSW, which commemorates the day that the 2/30 Battalion marched through Orange, prior to leaving for overseas service. Alongside the cairn is a golden elm, Lady G's tree, which was planted at the dedication ceremony on 23rd November, 1991.
The wording on the plaque reads:
"2/30 Australian Infantry Battalion Eighth Division A.I.F. marched through the City of Orange on 15th June 1941 led by their C.O. Lieut. Col. (later Brigadier) Sir F. G. Galleghan DSO OBE ED ISO.
On 23rd November 1991, this tree was planted by members of the 2/30 Battalion A.I.F. Association to commemorate that event and in memory of those who gave their lives.
Lest We Forget."
