Inside of the Bakehouse at Tavoy. The ovens were 44 gallon drums cut in two down the sides, while the bricks were manufactured on the site.
The building and the ovens were made under the supervision of members of the Pioneer Platoon of the 2/29 Bn; a notice on the ovens showed that 'Doughy' White was one of the bakers, the other four being from other units, a Lt. A.E. Staples (thought to be 2/18), A.R. Bale, H. Clark and F. Johnston."
